I am Aleko Khutsidze, a professional ballroom and Latin dancer and instructor with a rich background in dance. Originally from Georgia, I began my dance journey at the age of 5 with Georgian folk dancing, which embodies the country's traditions with its diverse and intricate movements, including acrobatic feats and elegant gestures.
My passion for dance led me to travel worldwide with the professional folk group Gelati, performing in various countries like Armenia, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Canary Islands, and the United States. In 2001, I transitioned to pursuing a career in international ballroom and Latin dancing upon settling in the United States.
In 2007, I ventured into professional competition in international Latin dance with my talented partner Svetlana Iskhakov. Together, we achieved success and cherished our journey in numerous competitions across the United States. After retiring from competitive dancing in 2014, I shifted focus to teaching dancers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, including social dancers, wedding couples, and competitive dancers.
Currently, I teach a diverse range of students and also participate in Pro/Am competitions nationwide with my dedicated students. Outside of dance, I am happily married to Abigail Khutsidze, and we are blessed with three wonderful children: Luka, Lily, and Luna. Abigail and I met 19 years ago at a dance studio, and our shared love for dance has nurtured a strong and joyful marriage since then.
